City tour arranged by hostel -- included hike in Tijuca Parque, Corcovado (Cristo Redemptor), lunch in Santa Theresa, and optional dropoff at Sugarloaf. Tour-goers were all hostellers from nearby hostels, so a great time to meet other independent travelers. Also Jardim Botanica was nice - take a cab, though, if going from Ipanema. |

Take a bus to Peliurionoh from Barra rather than staying there. Much safer and easy to travel around. |
